Sweet Audrey

Audrey is our 2nd born of the triplets.  God has given her a precious, loving, sensitive spirit.  She is always aware of the feelings of those around her.  When she was a baby, she would observe each conversation like she really understood what was being said.  She has always been the "mommy" of all the children.  She tries to take care of everyone and make sure they are doing the right thing.  She is always very eager to please.
She had a hard evening tonight because she found out that her beloved teacher from last year would not be her teacher this year.  She absolutely loved Mrs. Dauster last year.  Mrs. Dauster became the source of almost all knowledge in our home.  She was the perfect teacher for our children last year, and we are blessed to have a new wonderful teacher this coming year.  I know she will come to love her new teacher, also.  It just really hurt my heart to see her so sad tonight.  Unfortunately, I know this is only the first of hurts that will happen at school.  I pray that God will teach her and mold her as she experiences inevitable disappointments.  It's just hard to not be able to always protect my children from disappointment.  I also pray that I will model well how to handle disappointment!
We wrote a note to Mrs. Dauster, and prayed, and by the time she went to bed, she was better!

Luke

Luke is the first born of the triplets.  He is my precious little boy that seems like an adult in a child's body.  He looks just like his Daddy!  He has these sweet eyes that are a window to his heart.  They show joy and excitement, curiosity, and regret when he has made a mistake.  He is incredibly forgiving when I make a mistake in parenting.  He has a memory and a way of processing things that amazes me on almost a daily basis.  I have to really listen to him, because if I don't, I can easily miss what he says.  With 4 little ones, someone always has a lot to say!  He does not usually fight for the attention.

Today we got new carpet which all the children found incredibly exciting!  Furniture and toys moved out of their usual homes was not especially exciting to a mom who loves order. But, of course that is another area the Lord is working on!  Luke immediately wanted to know if Mrs. W recommended this carpet because that is the kind she has in her playroom.  He doesn't miss a thing.  Also, he wanted to know if we can take all the video ipods (a nana & grandaddy gift!) on our car trip to the beach because they have all the movies in the memory.  He said the tv in the car gets scrambled when we drive away from the tv stations.

He was extremely sick as a baby, and I know God saved him for a very special purpose!  How I pray that I am a good mom to this precious, special child!
